Dr. Junho Lee, principal geotechnical engineer of Deep Anchor Solutions and researcher at Texas A&M University, has been selected for the prestigious ACTIVATE Fellowship. As part of the Houston cohort, he joins 46 other scientists and engineers across the U.S. working on breakthrough technologies.

Deep Anchor Solutions is transforming offshore energy with a novel anchoring system designed to enable faster, more affordable deployment of floating renewables. The company’s compact anchor eliminates the need for large vessels, port upgrades, and loud hammer-driving methods. Designed for local manufacturing and transport, the system significantly reduces cost, carbon footprint, and logistical complexity — helping make offshore energy viable in remote and underserved markets around the world.

Lee holds a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from Texas A&M and brings over 15 years of experience in offshore foundation design and anchoring technologies. Prior to founding Deep Anchor Solutions, he led research, development, and commercialization efforts across both academia and industry, focused on advancing resilient offshore energy infrastructure.
